ABOUT
Mackenzie has been a therapist since 2017. Mackenzie has experience working in outpatient, inpatient, hospital, community mental health, and school settings since 2013. Mackenzie’s primary areas of focus and clinical experience includes helping people (teens and adults) with anxiety, depression, self esteem, anger, health issues (illness and injury), relational issues/stresses, life transitions, grief, loss (relational and death), and trauma.
Mackenzie has been on the board of the Oklahoma Society for Psychoanalytic Studies since 2020 and a Strategic Partner of the Psychotherapy Action Network since 2023.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Mackenzie Brand earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Southern Nazarene University. She participated in a clinical internship with the Deer Creek public school counseling services along with a clinical internship with Mid Del Youth and Family Services. She also completed a year-long course of Foundations of Psychoanalytic Thought through the Oklahoma Society for Psychoanalytic Studies. Mackenzie currently is a Licensed Professional Counselor (# 7019).
philosophy
Mackenzie believes that people are more than the sum of a set of symptoms and strives to incorporate the whole person into the therapeutic process . She believes that healing occurs through the relationship between the therapist and the individual. She is committed to being a therapist that listens, challenges you, and is a consistent source of support as you begin your journey of personal and relational betterment. She strives to create a safe and nonjudgemental environment in which the individuals she is working with can explore their pain and distresses while also working to create meaning and growth.
